How I’d Heal From Lyme If I Had to Start Over in 2025
Aug 12, 2025
If I Had to Do It All Again…
I get asked this all the time:
“If you had to start over today — no knowledge, no progress, just symptoms and confusion — what would you do?”
It’s a fair question.
Because Lyme recovery in 2025 is different than it was a few years ago.
There’s more information. More opinions. More overwhelm.
When I first got sick, I didn’t know where to go or who to trust.
I made a lot of mistakes.
Tried things that didn’t work.
Spent money I didn’t have on protocols that backfired.
But if I had to go back to square one — knowing what I know now — here’s exactly how I’d approach healing from Lyme in today’s world.
Step One — Accept That This is Going to Take Time
I wish I could say I’d start with some herb, test, or perfect routine…
But honestly, the first step is mental.
If I had to start over, I’d sit myself down and say this:
“You’re not crazy. You’re not broken. And you’re not going to fix this in 30 days. But you can get better — one layer at a time.”
I’d drop the unrealistic timelines.
I’d stop measuring my progress by symptoms alone.
And I’d start looking at healing like rebuilding a house — from the ground up.
Step Two — Focus on the Fundamentals First
Here’s what I would not do in the beginning:
- I wouldn’t chase 10 different protocols
- I wouldn’t spend thousands on lab testing
- I wouldn’t start with detox protocols or advanced tools
Instead, I’d get my foundation stable — because none of the advanced stuff works until your body can handle it.
That means:
- Prioritizing sleep and circadian rhythm
- Drinking water with minerals
- Making sure I’m pooping consistently
- Eating simple, nourishing meals I can digest
- Reducing stimulation (especially from devices and noise)
- Taking one walk per day or at least sitting outside in sunlight
It’s not sexy. But it works.
Step Three — Start a Simple Herbal Protocol
Once I had a rhythm, I’d start with a small set of targeted herbs.
And I’d keep it simple — probably just three to start:
- Cat’s Claw for inflammation and immune support
- Japanese Knotweed for neurological support and microbial balance
- Andrographis for broad-spectrum coverage
I wouldn’t rush to add 10 more.
I’d start small, watch how my body responds, and increase slowly.
That’s the exact approach I now use in the Recovery Kit I built for others going through this same process.
Step Four — Protect My Energy and Nervous System
If I had to start over, I’d take my nervous system more seriously from day one.
Back then, I thought it was just about the infection — kill the bugs, and I’d be better.
But your nervous system is the lens through which your body heals.
If it’s stuck in fight-or-flight, everything else gets harder.
So I’d create a daily rhythm to calm and regulate:
- Deep breathing twice a day
- Phone off one hour before bed
- Music or silence instead of constant noise
- Taking breaks to do nothing (hard, but necessary)
And I wouldn’t try to heal while constantly scrolling, comparing, or doubting myself.
Step Five — Get Support Without Getting Dependent
I wouldn’t isolate like I did the first time.
But I also wouldn’t hand over my healing to 10 different experts.
Instead, I’d look for community.
People who get it.
People walking the same path.
And one or two guides I actually trust — not just influencers selling a magic fix.
I’d keep the focus on building self-trust and body awareness — so I can be an active part of my own recovery.
Final Thoughts: You Don’t Have to Get It Perfect
If I had to start over today, the biggest shift would be this:
I’d stop trying to do everything “right”
And start trying to do what’s realistic — and repeatable.
Healing isn’t a test you pass.
It’s a relationship with your body that you rebuild over time.
And even when progress is slow, it’s still progress.
If you’re starting over right now — or feel like you’re stuck at square one — this is your permission to simplify.
You don’t need to do everything.
You just need to do what works — and give your body a real chance to respond.
Next Step
If I were starting over today, the first step I’d take is the same one I offer now:
The Recovery Kit — three herbs that target Lyme and co-infections without overloading your system.
No fluff. No overwhelm. Just a clean starting point that helps your body feel supported.
